## Core Value Proposition

DFin helps fundamental investors, individual investors, and pro-retail investors cover more companies without lowering their research standard. The platform provides prepared research coverage first, then lets users ask source-grounded follow-up questions through Dbot.

The product is designed for investors who want faster earnings prep, post-earnings review, peer comparison, segment deep dives, thesis monitoring, and company-history context without reading every filing from scratch.

## Main Capabilities

### Research Reports

DFin publishes analytical company reports, not just AI summaries. Reports are designed for earnings review, thesis monitoring, and follow-up research. They help investors understand company performance, business drivers, risks, opportunities, and relevant financial context.

Sample reports can be viewed from the human landing page through the "See Sample Reports" button.

### Dbot Research Assistant

Dbot is DFin's AI-powered research assistant for asking better questions of filings and transcripts. It can answer questions using company source material, compare peers, customers, and suppliers, discuss segment details, verify responses with references, pull non-standard metrics, and generate summaries, CSV-style takeaways, or slide-outline style outputs.

Dbot is strongest when questions are grounded in company filings and transcripts. Complex analyses should usually be built step by step, especially when comparing multiple companies or multiple time periods.

### Chronicle

Chronicle helps users understand the company story by tracing filings, earnings changes, and strategic shifts that shaped the business over time.

### Stock Screener

The free screener helps investors find the names worth researching before moving into deeper company work. No subscription is required. Users can build screens with hundreds of filters and thousands of combinations to find companies by country, market capitalization, ROIC, margins, leverage, growth, valuation, shareholder returns, and other fundamental metrics.

Screener results can be reviewed in a table with configurable columns and visualized in 2D or 3D charts to spot outliers and clusters. The intended workflow is: screen for candidates, compare the field, then use reports, Dbot, and Chronicle to research the short list.

Primary screener call to action on the human landing page: [Open Screener](/equity/screener/).

### Custom Coverage

Users can choose the companies they want covered based on their subscription tier. Coverage can be built around a watchlist, portfolio, competitors, suppliers, customers, or an idea pipeline. The platform is designed to expand coverage over time.
